I organised a trip here with a small group of care home residents. You are able to park outside the front door in a disabled space if needed. We met two lovely ladies who showed us how the machines work and lots of interesting facts. The residents were very impressed. There is a lift to use if needed. We didn't have time to stop for tea and cake too, but the cakes did look delicious. Next time!

Amazing place, volunteer run, very informative and picturesque, I think it would be even more amazing in the summer. Dtaff are very knowledgable and take time to explain things, and the exhibits are well cared for. Highly recommend a visit.

Beautiful old building in a pretty setting. Interesting and passionate staff & volunteers to talk you through it. The mill is run by a charity but still takes on special commissions, e.g. for film costumes or royalty. Very reasonable admission price @ £10 or £9 concession. Excellent cafe for lunch.

Fascinating. Our guide, Colin, brought the craft of silk weaving to life and our light lunch was lovely - particularly the lemon drizzle cake. The staff spotted that one of our party had her arm in a sling and ensured she was safe on the stairs and fetched chairs for her to sit on during the tour. A beautiful location on the river test. Would thoroughly recommend.

Been passed this place so many times but decided to actually visit. Good attraction, plenty of history. It's not going to take all day to visit but a pleasant way to spend an hour or two. Looks like it had a good cafe as well but didn't use it this time. Bonus is the ticket lasts a year.

I visited with a group of friends. The Silk Mill is a lovely historic building in a beautiful setting. A very wellcoming person called Charlotte told us lots about the mill, the silk, and the weaving process. What an asset she is! We so enjoyed our visit because of how utterly charming and well informed she is.
All the staff we met were very friendly, and the café is great.

We had a lovely trip and lunch with 4 generations. Very interesting and great that my 5yo could try weaving. She loved it. I would have liked to see some of the other machines in action. Perhaps on weekdays.
