I have struggled with a simple job of removing a crank arm from an old 1990’s bike for months!
It had an aluminium CNC’d crank arm that I did not want to damage with an x-lite aluminium crank bolt cover. The two had totally fused and I had struggled to remove it. It had rounded off and then cracked, resulting in it failing in situation. It was a total mess, such that I simply had given up! Then a call followed by a visit to the team at Wheelbase ILKLEY and I have to say, they could not of done more for me! I was leaving it with them, when their mechanic enthusiastically came racing out to me in the car park to say, “don’t set off, think that we have done it!” and they literally had!
15 minutes from presentation to completion, absolutely a class act!
I am so chuffed, bloody awesome customer service!

Fabulous, professional and quick repair service.

The day before the Ilkley Triathlon I realised there was a problem with the back wheel of my bike. The mechanic (Nick) was fantastic. He explained what was wrong, warned me the wheel was dangerous and set to work putting a new wheel on and getting the bike back in shape. Fantastic service which saved the day! Thanks

Wheelbase @ Ilkley were fantastic when I went in looking for a new road bike. Loads of bikes from a great range of manufacturers on display, fantastic knowledgeable and helpful staff. I was even invited to bring my own shoes and pedals in with me and was able to test ride a bike I was interested in purchasing which was invaluable, it greatly helped with the buying process. A few tweaks to the setup were made in store by the staff to get everything just right. Special mention to Bernie who was brilliant throughout the whole process. It was evident the aftercare is also excellent, I was chatting to another customer who had brought her bike in with an issue and she spoke very highly of them. And last but not least the price, the bike was discounted which made Wheelbase very competitive beating all other retailers on this model. In fact I’d say I’d be prepared to purchase from Wheelbase again even if they weren’t the cheapest option as the level of service and expertise would justify it. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Wheelbase whether you’re buying in store or on-line.

I bought my ebike, a Riese and Muller, from Wheelbase, the store in Staveley. The price was extremely good, and they were happy to let me try it out in the rain, and answer all my questions. Bought it, around 2,500 miles and 1 year later had it serviced at the Ilkley store - happy at the service and the price. Last week had an accident - Sh** happens, as they say. Had the bike taken to Wheelbase in Ilkley for checking. Controls repositioned, Nyon holder repaired, bike checked out - Then came the bill.£12.50 plus VAT.Then, because the bike was upstairs, a gentleman (employee) insisted on taking it downstairs for me.If you want more than this, then I suggest your name is Oliver.Me? I'll carry on using somewhere I know is not good - but exceptional.
