Really beautiful bookshop with a great selection of titles. I saw both titles I struggle to find in chain stores, and also some stunning editions of classics and favourites. Really a must visit!

I wish I could stay longer, P&G Wells is what you dream of when you read a novel describing the local, cosy bookshop. Stacks of books for a large range of topics, accentuated with interesting and entertaining decoration - I thoroughly enjoyed the bookshop rules.. 🐘⚛️📚 .. and seeing the shop within the shop (on a shelf)!

We went to Winchester christmas market today and got chatting to a stall holder who owned the bookshop ..he gave us a little map to get to it from the cathedral in kingsgate ..wow what an amazing hidden gem its like something out of harry potter movie a quaint old fashioned shoppe thats full of interesting beautiful books and friendly staff I could have stayed for hours ..treated myself to a book about Egyptian myths and tales will definately come back to browse for longer and most definately buy .. as a booklover this shop is a dream come true 😍

Charming bookshop thought to be the oldest in Britian opening in 1891.

This bookshop was a wonderful find. We stumbled across it trying to hide from a sudden downpour and were instantly charmed. The shop feels like it has been in place forever with aged furniture and a lived in feel while the stock is wide ranging and we'll organised, with the books they feature being very interesting and a little different to highstreet shops. Needless to say we made a few purchases before leaving.
Well worth a visit!

Superbly curated collection of books. Spent 2 hours here & came away with books for me to read & for the grandchildren from the excellent upstairs childrens' book collection. So much better than Waterstones formulaic shops as a great range of nonfiction books from independent quirky and engaging writers from England & further afield are stocked in abundance here.
