Steak pie, chips and mushy peas, and nice strong coffee. A nice difference to a service station stop off. Able to work for an hour in a relaxed environment with good quality food and drink.

Only called in for a breakfast, most enjoyable, friendly staff.
No fault of the staff but why do people insist on bringing dogs in, one yapping and another had its bed brought in and placed in the aisle and it absolutely sunk. Just leave them in the car. Really is inconsiderate.
The garden centre has a good selection of plants and other gardening equipment,

We love this friendly garden centre . Went at Christmas to choose our tree and they left us alone for a while whilst l persuaded my husband that we badly needed this perfect tree.! Although a bit larger than intended it was an amazing shape . Ten minutes later they had trimmed the bottom to fit our base and delivered it , placed it in position and trimmed the top . What a brilliant service from two very happy and smiling young men . The garden centre also sells the freshest plants in the area .The tree is still as fresh today as it was when they delivered it .

The cafe is brilliant, great coffee and a nice selection of cakes and hot food. But don’t try to use the “10% off” voucher from the newspaper, because it’s not accepted in the cafe. They say “conditions apply “, but they don’t tell you what they are until you get to the till.

Popped in here to browse and maybe grab a couple of snacks. Went to the loo first as I had just finished a work shift, and was confronted by a random employee telling me the toilets were for customers only when I came out. I questioned whether he was actually an employee when he confronted me because he definitely wasn't dressed like one.

Obviously, toilets for customers only is a reasonable policy for any business to have, but I fully intended to purchase something after using the toilet until the employee confronted me. I didn't even know they had toilets when I arrived, because this was the first time I had ever visited (and it'll definitely be my last), so I couldn't possibly have came here with the intention of using their toilet and leaving without purchasing anything when I didn't even know they had toilets in the first place.

I spoke to the old guy on the till who immediately jumped to the defence of his colleague, repeating what his colleague said, which is that I had no intention of buying anything - which I did until this guy had a problem with me using the toilet before buying anything! I'm certainly not going to pick up food items and take them to the toilet with me! Aside from being unhygenic, I would've probably been accused of trying to shoplift instead if I had taken anything to the toilet before paying!

The older guy sat at the till also stated that the toilets had been cleaned and supposedly closed at 4pm when the café closed - Perhaps you should lock your toilets if that's the case (you claim your business is so successful in response to others' criticism, so I'm sure you can afford a lock and key...), instead of following people to the toilet and waiting outside the door to tell them they're for customers only. In addition to being pretty creepy to follow someone to the toilet, having such a hostile approach will guarantee that person won't buy anything from you. Back off and let the person potentially buy something; if they don't buy anything, you lose nothing, and you can always ban them if they're a repeat offender.

Felt as though it was assumed I wasn't a customer based on my appearance/attire, so I made sure I wasn't a customer, because I refuse to give money to a business that behaves in this way.

Avoid this place due to the rude staff - Especially if you're younger than the stereotypical garden centre customer. As someone who is self-employed and who grew up with grandparents who ran a family business, I would be embarrassed if I provided this level of customer service, and it's even more disappointing when it comes from a family business. Part of your USP as a family business should be providing a more friendly and welcoming environment than larger chain stores, etc., and you failed spectacularly. Given the hostility from one employee and the older person on the till defending it, it's true what they say - the apple never falls far from the tree.

I will gladly buy my seeds/plants for the upcoming season from somewhere that isn't here, and I'm sure I can find plenty of other places to buy food/snacks when I'm working in the area too.

It's also clear from responses to negative reviews that people here are unable to take criticism. So yeah, I'm sure this'll be labelled as fake or dismissed without any consideration because the people working here appear too arrogant to admit they have any flaws or make mistakes ever. Take your business somewhere else. These people don't deserve your money.
