I went to be advised on type of wool needed for a special cardigan project. Was given suitable wool, from a local distributor, have started project and am very satisfied. I also needed 4 mm needles, not a problem, all sorted in quick order. Lovely and will visit again very soon. Great customer service all round! Everything purchased at reasonable prices.

The person I spoke to (the famous Kay) was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond digging through boxes to help me find the notions I needed for my next project. The shop is pretty higgledy-piggledy with all kinds of arts and crafts stuff so it's great to have a guide! It seemed very well-stocked too. I will return.

Great little shop for all your haberdashery items. Small but packed out with stuff like you wouldn't believe! Kay seems to know where everything is, too. There's yarn, patterns, notions of all kinds...and a selection of crafting fabric. Well worth a visit.

Wonderful Aladdin's cave of all things 'crafty', buttons, wool, threads, etc. Extremely helpful lady, who is knowledgeable about her stock and what might be suitable for whatever project you're doing.

This shop is utterly chaotic, and just not a nice place to look for craft materials. It's not that the owner doesn't stock lots of good and interesting things, it's just that there's so much wool piled up in the centre of the small room, and wool, fabric and other stuff piled up on the floor all around the shop (which is only about the size of my living room), that it's hard to even see what you want to look at, let alone to get to things to actually look at them. There's wool piled shoulder high, some in its plastic wrappers, but a lot falling out of them and loose; one can only see what's on the top of the pile, but if one touches the pile to try to see what's beneath, it inevitably results in an avalanche, because the plastic wrappers are slippery against each other. As a result, the narrow 'pathway' the owner has left between the piles of stock is always blocked by fallen stuff, and one has to clamber over it to move around the shop - which is difficult even if you are the only customer in the shop, and much worse if you aren't! If you decide not to struggle any more and simply ask the owner to locate what you require (and you've little chance of locating it on your own, because it's all so heaped up and messy), then she tuts and sighs, and makes you feel you are putting her out - and no wonder, she's clearly not very able-bodied in the first place, so it must be very difficult for her to negotiate her way through all the mess she has created in there - it's just like a mega- hoarder's back bedroom! She hasn't even got a clear pathway behind her own counter, and is treading on stock all the time she's serving. I'm a an avid knitter and sewer, and the shop is very local to me, but sadly, I feel no absolutely pleasure in going there, and I avoid it unless I'm completely desperate, because it's just so frustrating trying to find what you want in there. I think the utter mess in there constitutes a safety hazard, because it would be so easy to fall over or slip over on fallen stuff.

It's like Aladdin's cave, whatever your crafting needs she has it and if you can't see it kay knows exactly where it is.
