I asked for a list of names to be embroidered on a blanket as a gift for a friend undergoing chemotherapy. Initially Jon was very helpful, but when I got the blanket back it looked awful. The names were in clusters of three then a big gap before the next cluster, so they read like a person's full name as opposed to individuals. He had also started at the bottom of the list I had sent him so the names were in reverse order. And finally he had missed off the name of the wife of the patient.

When I told Jon I was disappointed he told me it looked good and he didn't know what my problem was. He also told me that if I wanted the list to be in order I should have made that clear. Perhaps that's the case.

He then said he would add the missonf name so I returned the blanket, to which he said can he put in underneath the patients (all the others were in a row), I said no as this would look like she was an afterthought. He then got quite irritated and told me it didn't fit anywhere else.

I was made throughout to feel as though I was being very difficult by expecting all the names to be on there, in order and evenly spaced. I'm fact he told me it was impossible to evenly spaced them. I'm pretty sure it's not as the next place I've approached seems able and willing.

Eventually I said I wanted a refund as this was now unusable for it's intended purpose. He has refunded me for the work but has refused to refund, or unpick the blanket so I'm now very out of pocket and having to start again with the project a week after my friend has started chemo.

Jon was really quite rude, and gaslighty and at no point took any accountability even for missing the name.

I would recommend avoiding ink and stitch at all cost.

I’ve now had two different embroidered designs from Ink and Stitch and I can’t fault the service at all. The photo is of the most recent purchase. Jon has been great both times and always happy to accommodate my wishes. The quality of the embroidery is great (much better than other places I’ve tried), clothing is high quality also.
