Homebase store is closing and very little stock left on display. Some good bargains but only 10% on paints and other popular items. Garden area now almost empty

I always buy garden supplies and barbecue equipment here.

But there is a large selection of bathroom products. And many other products such as electrical and plumbing. It is very easy to get here by car, I recommend you visit this store.

Brilliant in one way, rubbish in another!

The woman on the till was work shy, which affected the queue. She made people wait while checking something on her phone. Sent me to customer care because she'd need to type the code in for my timber, rather than turning the wood over where the barcode was.

Conversely, customer services were great. I needed for of something to qualify for discount, but they only had three in stock. She organised it so I didn't lose out and was really good about it.

I am in my 70's and have been told by the hospital that I refrain from lifting.
A few days ago when I purchased a bulky item, I asked if there was someone who could help me put it into my car and I was made to feel a nuisance.
However when I returned yesterday to purchase another bulky item, a staff member called Matt, despite being busy, actually came to me and volunteered to help me whenever I was ready.
Matt was helpful and polite.

The Range (the shop) has bought the lease. I hope as many of the staff stay if they are like the lady who served us on the till at about 4ish Thu 9 Jan 25 as she was lovely. We were buying a case meant for sorting bits but I am using it for jigsaw puzzle pieces.

The store is still being cleared of Homebase stock. Such a waste as it is Bunnings and Hilco that took a 40 year old company in profit and Wesfarmers/Bunnings in 2016 destroyed it, sold it to Hilco for a quid but didn't have the stamina to get Homebase through 2024 and here we are.

Never again. Booked a bathroom design appointment, came here on time, and I was told the designer did not come due to personal issue. No one notify me. Got it reschedule to 2 days later with another designer. Again I came here on time, and was told the same thing again. Again no one notify beforehand which could have been saved me 2 round trips of nearly an hour. Complete waste of time. The showroom is dusty and some pieces are broken, I have no confidence in their design service & product at all.

Plenty of staff on hand to offer advice and help you find items. Waits at the till are usually reasonable and there is a decent range of items. The prices are reasonable but not as cheap as Selco or sometimes Wickes locally but those stores are more for builders and so the finishing/quality is better at Homebase in my opinion. They also have their own toilets on site, including disabled ones.
