Nice cafe but very pricey. £3.65 for a hot chocolate is too much. Coffee prices are similar. Food is good quality though.
We take my 88 year old mum for a treat now and again but for 3 coffees and 3 cakes it is around £25. It really is a special treat at these prices.

Lovely garden centre with a great selection of gifts and plants.
The cafe/restaurant is very disappointing. The breakfast was poor quality with overcooked sausage and bacon but undercooked eggs. We had to send the breakfast back to then be served the exact same breakfast/plate again.
The coffee and other selection of food and drink were good but it seems to be the cooked products that weren’t up to standard. The cutlery and glassware was also filthy.
Staff were very accommodating and friendly.
Fair to say I wouldn’t return.

The cafe was magnificent. I have been there twice, and my experiences were great.
The potatoes were nice. The soups were also great. I couldn’t identify what soups of the day they were. But the two soups that I had tried were delicious.

First time I was in this place and I am very impressed. You can be inside and outside of the building. There is a big range of stuff whatever you actually need. It’s a paradise for a gardener. Plus there is a cafe and you can sit inside or outside and enjoy the weather. Toilet also available. Free parking place.

I went to the café yesterday for a meal with a friend.
I was impressed with the reserve a table when you wait in line to order your food. It was quite busy and didn't have to wait long for our food.
I ordered Ham and Cheese Toastie with salad and chips. I also got 2 bottles of Posh Pop and a very large fruit Scone for £21.95.
When I tried to open the screw top bottle of pop, I cut my hand on the glass which I hadn't noticed in the damaged lid and it started to bleed.
There was a lady taking the food to the next table and I brought it to her attention and she replied "I'll bring a plaster over"
Then she went away and brought our food and plaster. (but not the accident book to report it) I'm the H&S officer at work and any incident has to be reported in the book.
My ham and cheese toastie was tasty, but the salad was dry and looked like it had been put out 3 days previous and the chips were over cooked.
At the end of our meal I asked to see the manager and then she brought out the incident book.
We recorded my accident and then I mentioned my food. At which she replied " I'll let the kitchen know" and walked off as quickly as she could.
I really don't think she cared about the fact I'd cut my hand or the fact the food wasn't upto standard.
It'll be a long time before I eat there again.

8.75 For a pasty. Which would not have been the end of the world if the person serving didn't lie and when asked if the pasty comes with anything they replied a side salad and chips.

Well that would have been lovely, but what it really was was the most miniscule amount of salad and a few crisps! Not chips as stated, when I then asked the server where my chips were the response was oh no sir chips are extra.. On top of the 8.75 pasty,
I literally asked the specific question only to be lied to.

Dont bother total rip off, go the many other options locally to here.

Rating for the Topiary Cafe - it's decent but omg the service is soooo slow. Queues for the food at all hours and orders taken by 3 staff...and whilst they are perfectly doing an ok job they could do with some young, dynamic manager to shake up service so that orders can be taken, coffees made and food presented in half the time at least. However, the effort is there and food was decent...although the hot quiche tasted like firm scrambled eggs rather than smooth quiche like texture. And prices are quite high for a village. Cafe has real potential and the setting and decor is relaxing and nice, and it's big too so feels inviting. Would I go again? The answer is yes but hopefully next time it'll be less busy.

Very Christmassy, watch the automated raindeer and have a bite and cuppa in the cafe - queues usually long, reserve a table and enjoy! Lots of parking spaces, Christmas decorations, house plants, bird and pet food, garden plants, cards, gifts, food, kitchen items, give yourself enough time to walk round!
