Me and my partner had a 2 hour coloured clay lesson with Stuart. It was an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish and would highly recommend.

Stuart was very knowledgeable, was a great teacher and was very attentive. He definitely put us both at ease immediately and was very patient with us.

The coloured clay was a great option for us as we don't live locally so we didn't need to come back to paint the pieces. We also loved the effect the coloured clay gave which was a massive bonus. After showing us some techniques we were given the go ahead to experiment with plain white clay so we could get a feel for things. After a few practice runs we then moved onto our coloured clay. We both enjoyed making bowls the most and use bowls a lot at home so naturally gravitated towards them.

Although on the website you can only book 1 hour slots at a time, we found the 2 hours to be the perfect amount of time to learn the techniques and then do some pieces.

Went here for a pottery tutor led clay modelling. Update returned to paint them great time.

China Blue is a great day out with children or as grown ups who fancy getting creative! There are lots of different ceramics to choose from at different price points. They accommodated us today as a group of Mums and babies and we felt very welcome. There were plenty of high chairs for little ones to sit while we enjoyed a good cuppa, cake and natter and some of us mindfully painted our ceramics. The coffees and cakes were delicious and I like that they serve them to your table in the studio area. There are baby changing facilities in the accessible loo by the cafe. The place was clean and staff were very friendly. Plenty of paints and clean brushes, optional aprons etc. Only recommendation would be for them to get a purple paint too please!
The shop is also lovely to look around in too and is great for finding gifts or homewares. They also offer sessions working with clay too which I will try in the future.

We had a 30 minute throwing session with Jenny on Friday. It was fantastic, I thoroughly enjoyed it. She was knowledgeable, helpful and very patient! We also had a delicious lunch in the cafe. Would definitely recommend.

Two contrasting experiences at China Blue.
The first was taking my granddaughter to lunch in the cafe. Her child's meal was great l, she had a bagel and fries and a milkshake and was very pleased. I was disappointed with very little available so I went for a sausage bagel. I think they should apply the name to "The Liliput Bagel" it was no wider than the rim of any average mug and was £7.40+. My granddaughter could not stop laughing and we concluded I should have ordered a child's meal as it was 3 x bigger. The stand-out memory for me was being spoken to like an errant infant by the younger lady in the cafe. I was in the queue alongside two other ladies and we were told to queue properly in the correct format and given a demo of the legal line area. I cannot believe that in this day, someone speaks to customers like she did, my other fellow line criminals were not impressed.
We then went to the painting studio for a pre-booked session. It was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. Clean, well organised and good value for money. We had a fab time. I would recommend the painting.

We are down visiting area like we do every year on our SUMMER holidays very early September to find confronted at the door by Christmas stuff everywhere it’s September for g— sake not November December what planet does this company come from. So we all walked out and tried to recover from the depressive state we had just encountered and went to find a normal shop to by gifts and items from our summer holidays.

Thank you china blue for responding (6 months down the road) but there was not a little amount it was full blown when you walked through the door (in photos).
It was pretty well beginning of September, surely it would be better to sell and promote goods for that season then like you say November move to Christmas stuff.
We and many other won’t waste our precious time to visit for the future if that’s what is on offer to shoppers.

Lovely place to enjoy a coffee and/ or a snack. Very friendly and helpful staff, great coffee, and lovely friendly vibe. Definitely recommend. The only downside I can see is the toilet area. Although clean and fresh, the toilet seats don't fit properly, and you end up sitting half on and half off, very cold on your legs.

Recommend poke bowl, but a white stuff in veggie burrito is a bit salty and no other favor, avacado was list first on menu, but it came out quite small amount of it. I would not try this next time.
