Beaker Button is a hidden gem of a craft shop! There is a huge range available all of which are very high quality for very reasonable and competitive prices.

Jen is absolutely amazing! I had a two hour crochet lesson with her and she caught me so much in that time, she's very calm, friendly and patient.

I wish I could give another 5 stars for the teaching as well!

Oh by my goodness what an absolute delight it is to walk into a fabulous artisan wool shop such as Beaker Button! The yarns on offer are just exquisite! Talk about seventh heaven *swoons*. I was like a child in a sweet shop! And as for the owner, Jen, boy does she know her stuff! Knitting, crochet, needle felting, dyeing yarn, weaving, macramé, Dorset button making - you name it, she can teach it!! I had the most amazing day learning to dye my own yarn! - Pop in and have a chat, and find your new hobby!

I recently discovered Beaker Button whilst visiting the bookshop on site at the centre and, what a craft shop. Full of lots of lovely things, for me having wool for needle felting and seeing so much Dorset button stuff was amazing, as I'd recently learnt how to do a basic one and was in awe of all the cool kits and books that Jen had made. I left with a couple of things (going oh no I'm like a kid in a sweet shop) and then recently placed an order online for a few bits more.

The online experience has been just as great as being in person. Jen was so welcoming when I entered the shop and it felt the same with my online order, being gifted a few things extra and I love the bag the dorset button kit I purchased came in as well, such a nice touch. Ordering was also quick too.

Thank you for a great craft buying experience, I'll be back!

I bought a dorset button kit from Beaker Button and it's the best money I've spent this year. The instructions are really clear and the yarn it came with is stunning. For the hours of interest I've had from it, it was ridiculously good value. You should all buy one immediately!

I booked a 1:1 lesson (10.30am-approx3.30pm with Jen to learn how to make Dorset buttons. It was a fantastic day. Jen is an excellent teacher, very knowledgeable and experienced, and explains everything so clearly. The cost of the class included written instructions to take home for 6 different button designs and all the materials to make up those button designs. Even while teaching she is still very attentive to shoppers coming into purchase yarn etc, without me feeling in any way neglected. I will be booking again soon
for other workshops.
The shop is a yarnie heaven and caters for knitters/crocheters and fibre (spinning/felting).
Definitely lots of lovely squishable wool!

Gorgeous selection of yarns from a friendly and very knowledgeable owner Jen who helped me choose some beautiful British yarns for my project. Highly recommended. I'm only annoyed I didn't discover the shop sooner!
