Shocking experience and I am taking them to the small claims court. Bought a Humax Aura to watch Netflix. On the Argos website, under the Questions and Answers section, which is controlled and answered by Argos staff, a customer asked the question if the Humax Aura connects to Netflix - and the answer was yes. I relied on that information when choosing which product to buy. Lo and behold, the staff member got it wrong, because it does not support Netflix. I phoned customer service and explained (and discussed the fact that we no longer had the original packaging) and was told it was fine, it was a misdescription, so to take it back to the store. I also phoned Ashington Argo to double check before I drove over there (40 mins each way) - was told "no problem honey"... I drive there and an exceptionally rude male colleague told me the product was no longer resaleable so I could not return it. I tried to explain to him that there was a misdescription of the product on the website, so the fact that I no longer have the original packaging is neither here nor there! He is clearly not familiar with either the Trade Description Act 1968, or the 1979 Sale of Goods Act! It doesn't matter that the website colleague made a mistake when she answered, the fact is, she represented Argos and I bought the product on that basis. I also had to phone the central customer care team whilst in store who didn't have a clue either! This, after making two calls to ensure I didn't waste my time going to Ashington? It was the attitude of the man though - clearly he needs to go back to "how to treat customers" seminar. I shall be taking this matter further as it's £249, but it's more the principle and the messing about from all of the Argos team. Disgraceful.

Shopped there today. The staff were amazing. Lady who took my order as i was unsure of the procedure of buying with my nectar care and young man who carried my heavy purchase to the car. You made everything so easy so a big thank you.

Quickly served for our collection. They offered to bring it out the rear door as it was a tumble drier and we'd parked round the back. They brought it out and put it in the boot of our car. All in all took about 10 minutes from going in to it being in our car without having to lift a finger! Thank you!

I made an online order for collection on Monday 26th March, the email said I had until Mon 4th of February 6pm to collect the items. Yet this store cancelled my my order on Thursday 29th Feb and refunded me. I have disabilities and rely on other people to do my collections, I don't appreciate the cancellation, misinformation or you taking back the property that belonged to me after I had successfully purchased it. This is a tiny town, I can't imagine your storage is bursting at the seams. Quick glance at the reviews reveals this place to be a long term clown show.

Visited a 3 times in 2 weeks to look at, then buy a digital camera, then buy then more memory cards. Top marks to all the brilliant staff who helped me through the process. Will be back.

I was very pleased with the customer service provided by the staff at the Ashington store. I had ordered a soundbar, which was to be collected on Weds 15th June. Due to a problem with their delivery it was not in store. The lady who served me was super helpful & said she'd contacted the provider to ensure it would be in store for Sat the 18th. I went to collect it today & the young lady with black hair was very helpful with the follow up to ensure collection was smooth & painless. The staff of the Ashington store are a credit to the company & I'm very pleased with my new sound system... Well done ladies!

I've used this shop for many years but after today never again. You really need to think how you speak to your customers regardless if you think you might actually be right. 1 star is actually too much.
