This store is self-service only, which is surprising considering how many reviews you have here from customers who are clearly unhappy with this practice. You have staff standing around in groups doing nothing and refusing to serve on the tills. I left my products right there and shopped elsewhere.
It's unsurprising to see every time I pass by this shop it's almost empty. Self-service is totally impersonal and puts jobs at risk, as well as putting your own customers off returning.

I refuse to use any self-service tills. I am not your employee, I'm a paying customer.
You need only step into any other store with manned tills to see the difference in the volume of customers.

Contacted them via twitter in regards to a parking fine. They said they were requesting a cancellation on their part. I hadn’t thought about it again until today when I received a letter from a debt collection agency asking for £140. The original fine was only £70! We’ll be visiting the area again soon and won’t be shopping at Asda again.

Signs say 2hrs parking, the need to pay is hidden. Luckily the lady on the self-serve asked me if I had a parking voucher to redeem so purchased then. Nobody serving on the 2 normal checkouts, lady on self service said they won't pay anyone to work on there. Shame, as they can afford to pay someone to go behind the kiosk with no customers and stand playing on their mobile phone. Clearer parking signage and alternative to self service needed.

Disgusting predatory parking charging with misleading signs - Asda corporate please read this - like most supermarkets says 'max stay 2 hours' - then in TINY WRITING says 'parking charges apply' - received a wholly unfair £70 fine - parking eye didn't even let me know I had a parking fine until 18 days after it was issued, you only have 14 days to pay the lower £40 - I am appealing this!!

I WILL NEVER EVER EVER RETURN TO THIS STORE, EVER AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!

PLENTY OF OTHER SUPERMARKETS IN UTTOXETER WITH FREE PARKING.

Do yourself a favour Asda & get the vultures at parking eye well away from your business otherwise your store will go under soon.

I didn’t get the name of the worker, but whoever was at the self checkout section yesterday at 9pm (ish) wearing the cool green flower hair clips was SO LOVELY! A great help for two clueless gals who had never been in the shop before, and made us feel at ease. I work in retail and it can be stressful so for her to be super nice was just great 🙂

Absolutely shocking, got stung by the parking on a family trip to Alton Towers, we stopped in here to buy lunch and extra clothes because of the cold, spent over £70. Then 2 weeks later I get a parking fine. The signage is VERY misleading, I now see on Google street view that it says 2 hours max in big letters, which is usually the free period in any other supermarket, then in tiny letters underneath it says 'parking charges apply'. No signage within the store whatsoever that I saw, reminding people to pay. So many complaints but no extra signage!!! Asda, just change the signage!!
I see you are advising people to contact you to have it cancelled but I have already paid so I guess there is zero chance of that happening. Come on Asda, do something or I will boycott all your stores forever!!! And tell everyone else to as well!!

Scammed during my visit there. There was no sign telling you to pay any parking fee and we thought it was free. Got a mail today to pay for a £70 parking fine for a 20 minutes visit. Nice..
