Went for a Sunday dinner here in November and it was mediocre, as was the service however it was a new offering and team. We decided to give it another go yesterday and it was great, the dry aged Sirloin was absolutely amazing, Would have given a 5 but still small room for improvement, serve the gravy separately and a cauliflower cheese? My starter was lovely and the service was excellent. Booked for next week as local businesses deserve support particularly when they are offering such good food.

We had an absolutely cracking meal here a couple of weeks before Christmas. We called in and managed to get a table (two families with small children).
They were extremely accommodating, even got colouring out for the small children.
Food was typical pub grub, not too many frills but that’s ok when it’s absolutely delicious - as it was.
We were absolutely chuffed. Lovely and warm by the fire.
We will 100% return, staff were genuinely really lovely people.

In the middle of Storm Darragh, we turned up with no advanced warning, not sure if food was being served (officially it wasn't...). We were welcomed in, a fire was lit, and we were served delicious food, with extra options being suggested with each course. Beautifully cooked, and served, we all had a great steak and ale pie and chicken burger with all the trimmings. Puddings were great, and wonderfully unusual. All, very reasonable and we were offered a generous voucher, should we return. Many thanks to the young lady at the bar/reception who went above and beyond, and the kitchen staff, for great food.

Under staffed, cold food, microwaved deserts. We had to stack our empty plates so they would be cleared. We had to take the glasses to the bar because they didn't take them after numerous visits to the table.
Neighbouring tables were clearly frustrated at the service to.

Such a peaceful place. So much to see in a day, probably need 2. The train was brilliant. Staff are amazing and so helpful. A huge thank you to Jeff Williams who spent time with us and took us to the submariners memorial.

Lovely impromptu Sunday lunch, friendly service and excellent food, nice to see a place that brings children's food out cool enough to eat rather than red hot. We can definitely recommend the gammon and children's cottage pie, full of flavour and great portions.
