AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

Booked my bike on the 3rd to go in the shop on 7th and collect on the 11th (I was on holiday and needed the bike when I was back for work)

It was comfirmed it would be ready on this date for me to collect.

So Tuesday comes and I ring up to collect and I’m told it’s not even been started yet but they can do it today so I agreed but said if you can’t finish it don’t start it because I need to pick it up today.

2 hours later it was ready so I collect and it was £50 more than original quoted which was annoying because I only had a wheel bearing, headset bearing and bottom bracket bearing done. All of which were only bearing replacement jobs and non of them were siezed because they are 6 months old and regularly cleaned and lubed.

Upon collecting the bike there is so many faults and issues with it. I’ve had to take some hours out of work to correct them.

I’ve been Ewood bikes 3 times and every single time was a dreadful experience, please see photos for how they gave me the bike back, the dropper post didn’t work either and now it clicks and creaks when I peddle.

So disappointed by this shop and I’d advise all my riding friends to stay well away, they ruin your pride and joy like they have with mine.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!

I rang up on the 3rd to book my Mondraker in for the 7th and collect 11th for some bearing replacement (headset, front wheel and bottom bracket). It was confirmed it will be ready to go on the 11th.

Tuesday (11th) comes round and I ring up to be told it’s not even been started so I said I did it for tommorow whether it’s done or not so I want to collect it if you haven’t done it but they said they’ll get it done in the day and they did.

I collected it and the amount of faults left on my bike I can tell it was rushed. I have photos of all of these claims but the faults are as follows

All 4 cables at the front of the bike had been moved and as a result were all rubbing on the frame causing wear to the cable outers and my frame which is now marked

Dropper seat doesn’t work because of the extra tension on the cables due to now being routed incorrectly

Chain on the wrong side of my chain guard causing extra pressure on all the drivetrain and a god awful grinding noise when peddling

After fixing the chain issue I rode the bike and it sounds awful when peddling, clicking and grinding

Absolutely disappointed with how they have delivered my bike back, I’ll never go back again.

I’ll also add this is the 2nd bad experience I’ve had at ewood bikes but I thought I’d give them the benefit of the doubt but here we are.

Big thanks for the excellent service today. Crank arm issue had ‘problems’ written all over it but thankfully resolved quickly and efficiently. Very helpful staff. Would recommend to anyone for advice and guidance on bike issues.

Literally saved a cat's life. Took my bike in bc I was having trouble with the brakes, ended up getting a whole new set. They went above & beyond to get my bike ready in time for my next work day. Couple of weeks later a cat ran out when I was doing about 30 mph. If I'd not had the brakes they recommended bro would have lost one of his nine.

Went for a bike for my grandson. The shop was a shambles. Boxes, wrapping, screws and tools lying all over the place. Said i wanted a 24" wheels. One member of staff said "let's just try them all out and see (he went straight to the frog bikes)" - it was tea time and I didn't have s lot of time do I asked someone else. Customer service was seemingly not big in this shop. The guy wandered off after telling a member of staff to clean the boxes etc from the floor.

He came back a few minutes later, went to speak to another member of staff, then came to tell me he only had frog bikes in 24" at the moment. He said he could have something in next week.

The mess was still on the floor when I left the shop.

Out riding last weekend , 15 miles from home and my bikes rear wheel decided to cease up ( bad service from another bike shop) Ian kindly took the time even though he was busy to help me , and in the end lent me a wheel to get me home , service second to none. He has since fixed my rear wheel , all further repairs and service work will be defiantly be going his way

We luckily chanced upon this cycle shop on day 7 of our LEJOG. My 13 and 16 year old daughters were at a low ebb in the drizzle. The guys were friendly, knowledgable and helpful. We even got a cup of tea! I wish we had a bike shop like this down here in Berkshire. Thank you guys 🙂

Very helpful and friendly team at the bike shop. My friend and I were cycling the Liverpool-Leeds canal and had a tricky puncture. We called in for a new inner tube and they checked our tyres and made us a cuppa before sending us on our way. These supportive acts of kindness within the cycling community are really appreciated.
