Firstly, the staff at this place look absolutely miserable and after today’s experience I understand why and feel for them.
Came in today to exchange a ring doorbell i bought two days ago due to a fault. Matty the manager of the branch came to deal with me and ask what the reason was for the exchange, i explained to him that the motion setting wasn’t working and spoke to Ring customer and did all the troubleshooting which didn’t help. I was advised to return the item given it was under 30 days.
Matty looked at the item and amazed at the fact that all the sealing was still on, i explained to him that i only opened it to check if was working and put it back.

To my shock Matty said he will not be providing me with an exchange or a refund as I have opened the box, even though the item was in sellable condition!

I asked him about my statutory rights and argos refund policy which I don’t think he is in the know of. Clearly states on their counter about extended refund for Christmas (even though i bought it two days ago). Anyway Matty the manager wasn’t budging for some strange reason. Obviously this annoyed as my statutory rights were thrown out the window for no obvious reason and poor words were thrown which I regret! So Matty the manager refused to speak to me at this point and no refund or exchange unfortunately.

This is where it gets interesting, took a trip to white rose Argos and within 2 minutes a refund was issued with no questions asked!

I would like to know why the crown point manager refused to give me a refund/exchange? I was fully in my rights to do so but would like to know why Matty the manager refused? This felt really unprofessional and felt he had a personal grudge! Within 2 minutes i was given a refund at a different store!!!

The staff look miserable at the crown point store and obviously its due to the management there! They need looking into and clearly its mot the first time there!

Witnessed such a poor level of customer service in this place its shocking!! The male manager working on Wednesday is the worst of them all, yes you heard it “manager”.
So sad as Argos has been a reputable store but this definitely will be the last time i shop here!

They all wear bodycams now and its clear why! Sort your customer interaction and you won’t need bodycams!

I had the worst experience while returning one item a year ago. I bought a dehumidifier a day before and returned the next day since it had a strange noise. But I didn't agree as they couldn't hear and I asked them to keep in a quiet room since they were playing some songs. They didn't agree to it and were seeing me like I was lying and their eyes were so rude and didn't have courtesy to hear me and looking at me like I'm nothing.

Horrible store. Other manager seems to be fine but one named Ann Marie has a horrible attitude. Essentially accused my dad of swapping an item out because he returned it as it didn’t work as well as it should be, and apparently it looked like it was used “a lot longer” Left him uncomfortable as he doesn’t speak amazing English. Was told to cross reference barcodes and was told there wasn’t any. For her to stand there and indirectly accuse us of swapping the item out in a horrible attitude from the start, is ridiculous. Avoid this store, as you can see from other reviews, management seems to need retraining.

I had the worst experience ever and i was shocked by how i have been trained today. I can’t even explain what the manager did this morning but long story short that I bought a mixer from Argus less than six months ago (Ninja) for my business and i have been using it but somehow stopped working, I called Ninja and explained to them what happened and i told them that it’s under three years grantee and they said i need to take it back to Argus for replacement which i did and Ninja provided me a ref number to provide on my item return. I gave the mixer and the ref to the manager of Argus which she refused to replace it and she said it’s been used hardly which is NOT but again i told her it’s not your business to check how it has been used as Ninja agreed to return it. She started shouting on me and asked me to leave it is just because I asked for my rights and showed her the item guarantee, i also went through the policy and how she needs to deal with customers, she responded saying that she is the manager and this is her shop and she is going to block me shop or buying any items from Argus l, i straight away called Ninja and explained what happened and they deeply apologize about my experience and they said don’t worry, give us yours address and we will deliver the replaced mixer by today for free (which they did within few hours) and i also called Argus to complain and they told me that is not how you need to be treated and she can’t stop you shopping on our stores or website and they will follow it up with me, and once she heard the conversation, she called the security to ask me to leave, which I didn’t allow him to touch me and left but promised to follow it up and not leave it until i get the apology from Argus and do an investigation on this incident.
